The cast and crew of Beauty and the Beast is excited to announce the All Access Pass. Go behind the scenes and receive a tour of the castle and meet the characters this Saturday, July 29 from 11-1 at Centennial Auditorium.

Due to the threat of severe weather this afternoon, Sterling Public Schools has cancelled all after school practices and competitions for Friday, March 31, 2023. Additionally the afternoon preschool sections at Jefferson and Franklin will be released at 2:00 pm today.

Students had a great time completing an introductory activity to continental drift in Core 6.2 today! They had to put together someone else's puzzle and think about clues that would help them- all leading into clues that helped scientists realize that the cotinents look like they fit together like a puzzle. Students will continue to investigate the continental drift hypothesis and learn about plate tectonics this next month in science!

School Districts in Illinois are required to be closed for the general election. Sterling Public Schools will not have school on 11/8/22.

SPS will be on a 2-hour delayed start tomorrow - Wednesday, January 26, 2022. This means all schools will start two hours later than normal and all bus routes will be running two hours later than normal, as well. This decision is based on the National Weather Service’s announcement today of a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Wind Chill Advisory, both for Serling, IL. According to these two special weather announcements, there will be “dangerously cold wind chills that are expected to reach 25 to 30 below zero and could result in frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.” Due to this 2-hour late start schedule, there will be no AM PreK Program classes at Franklin Elem. or Jefferson Elem. There will, however, be breakfast served at all the schools tomorrow morning two hours later than normal.

Due to the high number of positive COVID-19 cases among students at Challand Dr. Everett, Dr. Dail and Challand Administration, in cooperation with the Whiteside County Health Department, have made the decision to place Challand on a 5 day adaptive learning pause. The five days starts tomorrow, the schedule is as follows: Thursday January 20th- Students will learn remotely from home Friday, January 21st-Students will learn remotely from home Monday, January 24th-Students will learn remotely from home Students will return to in-person learning at Challand on Tuesday, January 25th. Students should check their Google Classrooms for zoom links and class information. Students should also follow the daily bell schedule which will be emailed through skyward this evening.
